Dhinesh Kumar comes from an influential family lineage with deep roots in regional commerce and leadership Grandson of K.P. Guruswamy and Younger Son of K.P.G. Nagarathnam.

• Elder Son : Shyam Kumar is married to Swathi. Following in his father's footsteps, Shyam is an ad-film maker and film director.

• Younger Daughter : Aishwarya is married to Mr. Soundara Bharathi. The couple is settled in Malaysia and has been blessed with a son named Maaran.

Dhinesh Kumar graduated with an MBA from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1985 and transitioned into the media and marketing world shortly after, founding Saroj Ad Creators in 1989 (formally incorporating it in 1995).
